Get the app Brightwheel or Seesaw
I believe it would be more beneficial and easy to communicate with parents throughout the day through “text” messages instead of phone call. Parents are more likely to see the message than answer an unknown phone number. There can also be picture, bathroom, sunscreen updates through out the day. These apps are more convenient for daily use!
Thank you for this idea and giving us time to review. We investigated and discussed a variety of options and have decided to not move forward at this time. We currently communicate with parents through a newsletter, emails and weekly reminders. When parents are contacted during camp it is for emergency or discipline reasons. Both require a conversation. If the parent does not answer, we contact the next contact on the list provided in ePact. A challenge posed by these apps are that each counselor would need to have it on their phone. Our structure is a little different than a classroom with the same teacher. We will continue to investigate and keep this for future, but as of now we will not be implementing this in 2025.
