Swim Instructor Pay Difference between teaching babies and regular classes
I have become aware that swim instructors who teach babies are paid less (per hour) than swim instructors who teach regular lessons.
Doesn't this discourage instructors from becoming baby-swim instructors?
Is it fair to an instructor who is assigned babies instead of regular lessons?
Are other departments the same? For example, are instructors for parent-tot gymnastics paid a different rate than regular gymnastics?
Instructors who teach the Swim School programs for older ages are certified through Starfish Swim School. This certification is was warrants the difference in pay rate. This is similar to the difference between lifeguard pay structures compared to park attendant. Lifeguards have certifications and additional training.
